First Edition Authorized Version in quarto. In 1612, a quarto version of the King James Bible was issued. This edition closely follows the text of the 1611 folio version, while correcting two mistakes that were made in the first printing. Each edition of the quarto version is slightly different. Like our 1611 folio, this copy is also a “He” bible. The smaller size of this Bible allows for easier portability and personal use, which made this edition fairly popular. Many woodcuts and elaborate letters can be found within the text, and the text itself is printed in two columns throughout.
