Rare Bibles: Tyndale N.T. Bible (1549)

This Bible, published in 1549, is the third edition of the Tyndale New Testament in two languages: the Latin from Erasmus and the English from Tyndale. The Latin and English are placed side-by-side in the text so that comparison can be made easily while reading. According to Paul Keen, this is a very rare translation and is a “prize,” as there are only two known copies in the United States and only two in England. Our copy also contains epistles of the Old Testament from the prophets and poetic writings, which are very rare. For some reason, our copy is missing the second part of Matthew chapter fourteen where Jesus walks on the water and heals the sick, but otherwise, it is complete
